Purpose:

Increasing Engagement Through Instant Challenges is a professional development developed collaboratively with the organization Destination Imagination. Participants engage in an instant challenge (IC). ICs support social-emotional (e.g. using expressive communication strategies, recognizing strengths and cultural and linguistic assets) and academic (e.g. listening and reading, thinking and reasoning) standards. Additionally, ICs can be included in a student's body of evidence for gifted and talented identification. 

Destination Imagination (DI) provides the Instant Challenge (IC) framework. ICs are a central part of the DI educational experience. DI's goal is to create lifelong problem-solvers who are inspired to create solutions to real-world challenges collaboratively.
